Three Ways to Stay on Your Diet

All of us have been on a diet, at some point in our lives. We’ve all have fallen off the wagon. It’s very easy to do, and it eats us up with guilt. I’m going to show how, to stay on the diet that you’re currently on. We are going to cheat a little, and that’s OK. You are still going to lose the weight. My promise to you!

Cheat Day
When your on a diet, everything that you can’t have looks so appetizing. It seems like you have so many more cravings. So, to fight that feeling, and to give you something to look forward to, you need to pick a cheat day. If your following your diet, this should not set you back that far. According to The Four Hour Body, by Timothy Ferriss, you should be back to where you were within 48 hours. So, pick a day, and go all out. I’m talking Twinkies, Chocolate, anything that you consider sinful that you enjoy eating. Yes, you have 24 hours to splurge.

The first time you have a cheat day you will go crazy, but around the second, or third week, it isn’t as much fun as you think it will be. Maybe, because you’ve shrunk your stomach, or the food you’ve been dreaming of, just doesn’t taste that great anymore.

Why do you need a cheat day? Your more likely to binge, if you don’t have a cheat day. When you have your cheat day to look forward to, you’re more likely to stay on your diet.

Journal
Keep track of everything you eat. There are ton of websites out there, that allow you to put in what you eat, and it will give you a daily calorie total. When you have to actually write down what you are eating, the more conscious you are going to become before you put it in your mouth..

No matter what you use, either a website, or just writing it in a notebook. Keeping track of what your eating, and how many calories that item has will help you tremendously. Pretty soon you will know how many calories are in the items your eating, and decide if they are really worth eating.

Exercise
I’m not going to sit here and tell you to spend hours at the gym to lose weight. We all have busy schedules. What I am going to tell you is to move. When you move, and I’m not talking lifting your arm to feed yourself, your doing wonderful things for your body. You’re fighting depression, burning calories, curbing your appetite, and motivating yourself to keep going. The more results you see, the more likely you will stay on your diet, and reach your goals.

The best way to exercise is to find an exercise buddy. You will end up motivating each other to work out. I know if I’m meeting one of my friends at the gym, I’m more then likely not going to miss my workout. When I’m working out alone, I usually will find some excuse not to go.

Remember, the more you exercise, the faster you will receive the results that you are looking for. I’m not saying to get obsessed. Just get off the couch, move that body, dance, live your life to the fullest.
